Preikestolen Fjellstue is located next to the beautiful Refsn lake and at the very beginning of the main trail to the Pulpit Rock. The hotel is the perfect starting point for several breath-taking hiking experiences, including the hike to Preikestolen, providing amazing views of the famous Lysefjord and the surrounding mountains.

Enjoy a good night’s sleep and our tasty breakfast buffet and start the hike before the crowds arrive. After you are done exploring for the day you should relax, recharge, and enjoy a well-deserved dinner in our restaurant while taking in the beautiful views. Free parking for guests who stay overnight and/or eat in the restaurant.

Why stay longer?

We have plenty of other outdoor activities around the mountain lodge to keep you and your friends or family busy. On the lake you can go for a swim, get in a kayak or a canoe, or test you balancing skills on a SUP. There are also shorter and longer hiking trails in the surrounding areas, allowing you to experience and explore more of the stunning Norwegian nature. For the longer hikes with recommend one of the guided tours with our adventure company Outdoorlife Norway. How about joining the guided Preikestolen Sunrise Hike?

For daytrips you can visit other world-famous attractions in the Lysefjord, such as Kjerag and Flørli, or you can join one of the many relaxing fjord cruises. For a more urban excursion with shopping and city sightseeing, the cozy town of Stavanger is only about 40 minutes away.

Going hiking – do you have what you need?

The trip to Preikestolen takes four to five hours up and down, and is a total of eight kilometers long. The stretch has an elevation increase of 500 meters and some sections are quite steep. Parts of the trip to the Pulpit Rock run in rough terrain, and we recommend footwear with solid sole and good ankle support.
